OUR VETERINARIANS

Dr. Monte Gripp, DVM

Monte Gripp, DVM, graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. He moved to Hico to establish his practice in 1978 after serving 3 years in the United States Army Veterinary Corps.

He is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the American veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and the Three Rivers Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Gripp grew up on a farm in Castro County, Texas, graduated from Hereford High School, then Tarleton State College with a bachelor’s in Animal Science. From there, he went on to Texas A&M. Dr. Gripp says he will work on any animal except skunks and snakes.

Dr. Crystal Coleman, DVM

Crystal Coleman, DVM, is a native of central coast California. She practiced in Dallas for 7 years before moving to the Hico area to raise her family. She joined our clinic in 2018.

She is happily married to her best friend, Clint, and they enjoy watching their four adventurous children grow up in the midst of farm life.

Dr. Coleman obtained her bachelor’s degree in Equine Science and a master’s degree in Agriculture at Colorado State before graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary medicine in 2010. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Christian Veterinary Mission.

Aside from her love of veterinary medicine, Dr. Coleman enjoys running, cooking, and playing outside with their children.

About Our Practice

The Veterinary Clinic at Hico has treated animals with love and care since 1978, when Dr. Monte Gripp, DVM, started the practice. Today, Crystal Coleman, DVM and Dr. Gripp continue providing small town service along with the highest quality care for your beloved animals.
